After you arrive for your treatment, a simple blood draw will be performed. A small amount of blood is drawn from patients and placed into a tube. The tube is then placed in a medical centrifuge device that isolates and purifies the platelets. Once it is prepared, the PRF can be used in several different ways.
These procedures are quick and virtually painless. For those with aversions to needles, a topical anesthetic may be applied, although most patients report no discomfort with the treatments. These treatments are minimally invasive and patients should be able to return to your normal daily activities immediately after your appointment is over.

This treatment option is ideal for those with mild to moderate signs of aging who would like a refreshed, youthful glow. After a Skin Pen (a handheld device that uses very small, almost microscopic needles to create small "micro-channels" in the skin's surface) treatment is performed, we massage your PRF into your skin, taking advantage of all of the points of entry created by the Skin Pen. The platelet-rich fibrin will immediately go to work fortifying your skin.
This stronger facial rejuvenation treatment works well for those who have more extensive signs of aging. After topical anesthesia is applied, a fine needle is used to inject your own platelet-rich plasma into the skin in the areas of your face that concern you such as crow's feet, frown lines, and sunken or hollow cheeks. Treatments can also be performed in the neck or décolletage area to treat signs of aging.
The same growth factors that help stimulate skin regeneration can also stimulate dormant hair follicles. Once the platelets are gathered and separated, they're injected into the scalp. Dr. Blades can administer a special nerve-blocking anesthetic on your scalp to keep you comfortable.
After PRF therapy, you can expect mild redness, swelling, warmth or a sensation of tightness just after your treatment. This usually disappears within a few days. Bruising is possible. Most patients feel they can resume all activities of daily living immediately following their appointment. Over the course of several weeks to months, your platelets will go to work fortifying and strengthening your skin. New collagen growth will add fullness and volume to thinning areas. Your wrinkles will smooth out and your scars can fade. Several treatments spaced a month or two apart may be needed to achieve optimal results.
